Police hunt pair who ran off from Mildenhall crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after two people ran away from a road collision last night leaving the other driver trapped in his car.

Officers were called at 11.10pm to a collision between a silver BMW 3-Series and a blue Ford Focus on the A1065.

Ambulance and fire crews were also there and the male driver of the Ford Focus had to be freed from the vehicle, but did not suffer serious injuries.

Two people – believed to be male – are reported to have got out of the BMW andleft the scene of the collision, possibly into nearby woodland. One of these people was said to have been helping the other to walk, so police believe at least one was injured.

Police dogs were called in to help search o the area but the BMW occupants were not found.

The road remained closed until 2am while both vehicles were recovered and oil and debris were cleared.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or who may have any information about the BMW occupants.
