Police hunt man in connection with Newmarket nightclub attack

Police are hunting a man in connection with a serious assault in Newmarket nightclub in the early hours of Sunday.

A 28-year-old Ipswich man had his jaw broken after he was attacked inside Innocence nightclub around 12.05am.

The victim was on a night out with friends and was walking from the dance floor to the back of the club when he was hit in the face.

Police want to trace a man, described as being of mixed-race appearance, possibly in his mid to late 20s, with short shaved hair, around 5ft 10ins tall, who was wearing a white cardigan - and are asking him, anyone who may know who he is or anyone who may have seen the incident to call DC Suzanna Newell at Bury St Edmunds on 101, quoting reference NE/15/191.
