Police hunt for clues over A11 death crash

Police are continuing to investigate and appeal for information following a two vehicle crash on the A11 at Barton Mills in which a man died

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision just north of Fiveways on the A11 at approximately 1.45am on Monday.

Two vehicles, a silver BMW and a silver Toyota Corolla, were involved with the BMW bursting into flames. Its driver, a man believed to be in his early 20s and from Norfolk, died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a man in his 60s, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds with a broken sternum.

A stretch of the A11 road, north of Fiveways at Barton Mills was closed and diversions were put in place while police investigated the crash and recovered the vehicles took place and the Highways Agency carried out repairs and resurfacing to the carriageway.

The road re-opened at just before 5pm.
