Police fine four in Soham at weekend garden party flouting coronavirus rules
Police have slapped fines on four people for flouting social distancing rules in Soham at a weekend garden party.
Yesterday East Cambridgeshire's police handed out the fixed penalty notices after they were called to a garden party in Pratt Street where 12 people were at.
Most left over garden fences when officers arrived, but four people were handed fines for breaching the guidelines which are designed to prevent and slow the spread of the coronavirus.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "It's important to remember we should not be meeting up with friends, family or even colleagues outside of work."
Today the UK government announced within the last 24 hours there was 449 more people who died in hospital with coronavirus.
In the past, the number of deaths has dropped over the weekend and are revised in the following days.
