A pensioner has died after her car left an Ely road and hit a tree yesterday.

The woman, who was in her 70s, was driving a white Kia Ria in Downham Road just before 2pm when it left the road and collided with a tree.

Emergency services closed the road between Cowbridge Hall Drove, near Little Downham, to the Ely Leisure Village until about 6pm.
