Staff at Ridgeons in Newmarket have been taking part in a fundraising event with a difference.

Yesterday, eight of the workers at the timber and builders’ merchant donned donated jockeys’ silks and set about cycling over 158 miles in 24 hours, to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The team of cyclists hoped to raise over £3,000 for Ridgeons’ chosen charity, taking it in turns to ride five miles on an exercise bike set up in the branch, in a relay format, while continuing to serve customers.
