Newmarket woman raises hundreds of pounds for two charities close to her heart
A Newmarket woman has raised more than £500 to help two charities close to her heart. Tesco worker Dianne Forder, pictured far left with family friends and supporters, who lives in Weston Way, staged a special fundraising event at her home supported by friends, local business and her employer. There were home-made cakes, a raffle and a tombola which has so far raised £565 which will be spilt between Marie Curie Cancer Care and the mental health organisation MIND, specifically the Heads Together charity recently started by Princes William and Harry. “I want to thank everyone who made cakes, bought raffle tickets and donated prizes,” said Dianne.
She will present cheques to the charities representatives at Tesco in Newmarket on August 23, the day she marks 34 years’ service with the store.
