Newmarket MP Matthew Hancock is to hold a Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair in the town next month.

Following on from last year’s successful event, the Conservative MP, who is the current Minister for Skills and Enterprise, will stage another fair at the Memorial Hall between 10am and 12.30pm on Friday, March 7.

Supported by the team from the Jobcentre Plus in Newmarket, the fair will feature a range of local businesses and organisations, along with having various jobs on offer and a new focus on apprenticeships.

“I was really pleased with the jobs fair in Newmarket last year and since then we’ve seen unemployment in the town continue to fall thanks to the brilliant businesses we have and the work of the Job Centre,” said Mr Hancock.

“But there is more to do and one area that came up when I spoke to people who came in 2013 was opportunities for young people especially apprenticeships.

“I am really keen to make sure that everyone in Newmarket makes the most of the huge opportunities offer, so we’ll be seeing more of them at the fair in March.”

Details of firms attending will be released shortly.
