Motorbike rider taken to West Suffolk Hospital after A14 crash just outside Newmarket




A man has been taken to hospital after a crash between a motorbike and car just outside Newmarket.

At about 9.30am emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the A14 near junction 38, where the road links with the A11.

Traffic officers closed the east-bound carriage way between junction 37 and 39, diverting drivers through Newmarket to avoid the collision.

The rider of the motorbike suffered wrist injuries, Suffolk Police said, and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.

The busy east-west road re-opened at about 1pm.

A East of England Ambulance Trust spokesman said: "We were called to a collision at around 9.30 this morning. An ambulance and ambulance officer attended and treated one patient at the scene before transporting them to West Suffolk Hospital for further assessment and care.
