West Suffolk Matthew Hancock has welcomed figures that show 800 new apprenticeships began in the constituency last year.
Mr Hancock, who is also Minister for Business, Enterprise and Energy, the figures meant l3,440 new apprenticeships have been started in West Suffolk since 2010.
He added: “These figures are great news. 3440 new apprenticeships since 2010 means more young people in West Suffolk getting the skills they’ll need for the future.
“Apprenticeship starts have doubled in West Suffolk since 2009/10. But I’m pleased a future Conservative government would go even further, with a £1 billion commitment to deliver 3 million apprenticeships by 2020 and to end youth unemployment.
“The Conservatives are ensuring the next generation have the skills and opportunities they’ll need to get a good job, so they can have a brighter, more secure future.”
