John Slater named as man who died in A10 Ely crash

A man who died in a crash in Ely yesterday has been named by police.

John Slater, 55, of Thetford was driving his BMW 320 when he was involved with a collision with another car near the Ely Leisure Village.

The crash took place at 6.48 and he died at the scene.

A man in his 30s from the Ely area, who was driving a VW Passat, was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and was in a serious condition.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw either vehicle involved just prior, should contact Sergeant Mark Dollard on 101 quoting incident 66 of 5 November."
