Man dies in Soham town centre after reports of 'medical emergency'
A man died in Soham town centre yesterday after suffering a 'medical emergency', triggering a major response from police and ambulance crews.
At about 4.45pm emergency services were called to Churchgate Street in the town to help the man, after reports he had colapsed.
An eye witness said she saw about four police cars and ambulance crews at the scene.
Today an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to Churchgate Street in Soham shortly before 4.45pm yesterday to reports of a medical emergency. A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and ambulance officer attended.
"Despite their best efforts, the patient sadly died."
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
