Man dies after his car plunges into pond just outside Newmarket
A 90-year-old man died yesterday after his car plunged into a pond in Gazeley on Friday.
The man has been named as Reginald Gardner from Moulton.
Emergency services, including the East Anglian Air Ambulance, attended the scene at about 12.25pm on Friday after reports of a car having left the road and gone into a pond.
Mr Gardner was pulled from the water and taken to West Suffolk Hospital, but died three days later.
A Suffolk Police spokesman asked anyone who witnessed the accident, or the moments leading up to it to call 101 and quote the incident number CAD 132 and the date of February 21.
