Man charged with careless driving and driving while disqualified after hitting pensioner in Fordham




A man has been charged after a collision in Fordham yesterday which left a 95-year-old man in hospital.

The pensioner was hit by a Mercedes Sprinter van as he was crossing Carter Street at about 8.45am.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is now said to be in a stable condition.

Richardos Primandas, 52, of Dryleys Court, Northampton, has been charged with careless driving and driving while disqualified.

Primandas was set to appear before Cambridgeshire Magistrates' Court earlier today.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the white Mercedes Sprinter prior to what happened, is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 76 of 2 December. Alternatively, you can report online at cambs.police.uk/report."
