A 33-year-old man from Newmarket has been charged after another man was seriously injured following an incident in the town.
Officers were called at around 9.55pm on Saturday to reports of a man found on the pavement who had sustained head injuries after falling to the ground in High Street, near to the junction with The Avenue.
Peter Crotty, of Nimbus Way, Newmarket, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court today.
The victim was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and who may have seen the man fall.
