Here is the latest entrant in the search to find the 2015 Newmarket Carnival Princess and her two attendants.

And this week is the last chance to enter this year’s competition. A final line up of all the entrants will be in next week’s Journal, so if you want to enter, we must have your photograph and entry coupon at the Journal office by noon on Monday June 22. Entrants for the carnival princess competition must be aged between eight and 12 and either live or go to school in Newmarket. Photographs can either be sent to Newmarket Journal Carnival Princess, Newmarket Journal, Rookery House, The Guineas, Newmarket CB8 8SY or emailed to but all entry details must be on the coupon.

Newmarket bridal specialists Brides by Solo is donating tiaras for the princess, and two attendants, who will lead the town’s carnival parade on Saturday July 4, as it makes its way from Tattersalls to The Severals.

As well as a host of events including stalls, funfair rides and a beach-themed giant sandpit during the afternoon, the entertainment will continue into the evening with the live music event NewFest.

This year’s line-up includes local band Macca who recently entertained crowds after racing on QIPCO 1,000 Guineas Day at the Rowley Mile, and former Iron Maiden star Dennis Stratton. For more information about the carnival call events organiser Kay Dawson at Newmarket Town Council on 01638 667227.
