Isleham gears up for annual gala

Isleham is gearing up for its annual Gala Day on Saturday.

The parade of floats and walking displays will start at around 1.15pm from East Fen and led by the Glen Morrison Pipe Band the Soham Majorettesgo down The Causeway and Mill Street on its way to the recreation ground’s Fordham Road entrance.

There there will be a full afternoon of entertainment and events including stalls selling a variety of goods to raise money for local organisations, a tombola and a draw.

Attractions will also include running and cycle races, pony rides, a dog show, dancing displays, performances by the school band and the pipe band, a bouncy castle, wellie throwing, skittles, a vintage car display and refreshments in the Beeches Community Centre. There will also be a craf tent and a competitions’ marquees for fruit and vegetables, baking and flowers.

The event will end with a children’s fun run which starts at 5pm.
