Investigation into death of 2-year-old Beck Row girl opens
The investigation into the death of a two-year-old Beck Row girl, who was found face down in a pond at her family's home, was opened and adjourned today.
The hearing, at Suffolk Coroners' Court in Ipswich, heard toddler Violet Knox had been playing in the garden of her Wilde Street home with her siblings on February 23.
Her family had lost sight of her, and then noticed a child's dress floating in the pond, where she was found face down.
Emergency services were called and medical staff tried for around two hours to resuscitate her, but Violet was pronounced dead at West Suffolk Hospital.
Senior Suffolk coroner Nigel Parsley adjourned the hearing until September 22 when a full inquest will be held.
