Houldsworth Valley pupils go around the world in art

Youngsters from Newmarket’s Houldsworth Valley primary school went on a journey from South America to Australia, via ancient Greece and India, as part of a week of art and creativity. Each class enjoyed learning about a country or continent, and artwork produced included ancient Greek Vases, Rangoli chalk patterns Aboriginal cave paintings and 3D boomerangs. Parents came in to classes during the week to support their children’s learning, and the week culminated in two art galleries which were open to parents and pupils and an auction of artwork.

The work produced during the week will be on display during the school’s open day on Monday.
