‘Good’ rating for pre-school

A village pre-school has been rated good by government inspectors.

Fordham pre-school was inspected by Ofsted inspector Kerr Cobbett last month, who concluded that the quality of teaching was ‘consistently good’ with children making good progress as a result.

The pre-school which operates from purpose-built premises on the village primary school site currently caters for 110 children , 73 of whom are in the early years range.

According to the inspector the school’s environment was “both stimulating and enabling and children enjoy their time at the setting demonstrating that they feel sale and secure.” He said pupils showed high levels of independence and ‘exude confidence’ as a result of their ‘enabling environment’.
