A man from Newmarket has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Peter Crotty, 33, of Nimbus Way, appeared today at Ipswich

Crown Court.

He had originally been charged with murder following the death in

hospital of Adrian Williams following an incident at the junction of High Street and The Avenue in Newmarket on December 27 last year.

Mr Williams, 51, from Soham, had sustained head injuries.

Today following legal submissions, Crotty pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter.

Judge David Goodin told Crotty that he will be brought back to the

same court to be sentenced on May 5.

Crotty, the former operator of De Niro’s nightclub in Newmarket, was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
