Former Archbishop of Canterbury in Burwell to talk about foodbanks

Former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, is to speak about foodbanks at St Mary’s Church in Burwell at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Dr Williams is patron of the Cambridge City Foodbank which runs five centres that supply emergency provisions to needy families, His lecture is called Foodbanks in Today’s Society and he will be answering questions.

The even is free to attend and has been organised by Churches Together as part of its Lent programme. Topics to be discussed include Dr Williams’ involvement with the city foodbank, the needs of the poor in society and how the church can make a difference.
