A Fordham grandmother has raised almost £300 for a cancer charity after having all her hair shaved off.

Forty-nine-year-old Mandy Bowers of Eldith Avenue, said she decided to have the chop in support of two close friends who are both terminally ill with cancer. “I thought that having all my hair cut off is nothing compared to what they and their families are going through,” said Mandy who lost her locks at the HeadTurners salon in Fordham on Saturday. Proceeds will go to the Macmillan Cancer Trust.
