Generous churchgoers have been busy collecting food to donate to Newmarket’s foodbank.
Members of the congregation at the town’s Catholic Church took part in a food collection for Poverty and Homelessness Action Week from January 25 to February 2.
The food was donated to Newmarket Foodbank, which is run by Newmarket Open Door, a charity run by Churches Together in Newmarket which supports homeless people.
Sue Parsons, spokeswoman for the Catholic Church, said: “We collected during two weekends and received enough food to fill three car boots.”
