A charity cycle event, which last year raised more than £6,000 for local good causes returns to Newmarket’s Rowley Mile racecourse later this month.

Now in its third year, the Newmarket Hilly Sportive, on June 21, is organised in partnership with the Newmarket Festival, and incorporates three events, a 25 mile fun ride, a 50 mile challenge and a 100 mile ride which is aimed at fit riders and has a time limit of eight hours. This year, for the first time, there will also be a junior hilly ride event within the racecourse grounds and other cycling activities for riders under 14.

Newmarket Festival chairman, Mark Edmondson commented, “The Newmarket Hilly is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy our beautiful countryside while raising important funds for good causes in the local community.”
