Police hunt gang of children who carried out racist attack in Newmarket street

A man had stones thrown at him and was subjected to racial abuse by a gang of youths as he walked along a Newmarket street.

The man was walking along Howard De Walden Way on Tuesday, April 12, at around 7pm when the incident occurred.

The group consisted of three girls and two boys described as white and aged approximately between eight and 14 years old.

Both boys were wearing dark tracksuit type clothing, one described as short and thin; the other as bigger in build.

The girls were dressed in leggings or jeans. One of them had blonde hair and another had brown hair.

Officers are keen to trace the group and are asking for anyone who may have seen this incident or anyone with information that may help, to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference 37/27737/16.
