CCTV has been released of a man police would like to speak to in connection with a break in at a pub in Ely.

A flat above The Kings Arms pub in St Mary’s Street was broken into at about 10.45am on Friday (January 8) and £1,300 in cash was stolen.

PC Stuart Webling said: “The offender entered the pub through a side door before going into the dwelling part of the property, taking the money then leaving through the same side door.

“The victim has been left upset by what has happened as £700 of the cash was for charity which had been raised through a pub quiz, and the remaining £600 was to pay staff wages.”

Officers are particularly keen to speak with the man in the CCTV image.
