Police are investigating reports of an attempted abduction of a soldier at A British Army Garrison.
According to the British Forces Broadcasting Service Forces TV troops at the Aldershot Garrison in Hampshire were briefed just after 8.15am on Wednesday morning about the suspected attempt, which apparently took place by the main Garrison Church.
A spokesman for Hampshire Police said they are currently “looking into the reports” and cannot comment further at this stage.
Soldiers based at the Hampshire garrison are being told not to wear uniform to work, or to leave camp wearing uniform until further notice.
It follows reports of a suspected attempted abduction of a soldier by two men in a blue Renault Clio.
Military personnel at barracks across the UK have been on high alert since the attempted kidnapping of a serviceman near RAF Marham on July 20th.
