Members of the Newmarket Community Choir will be staging their latest fundraising concert later this month.
It will be at Newmarket Academy on Saturday, April 25, with the theme Through the Decades with music, poetry and monologues, from the 1920s to the present day.
Over the last few years the choir has raised funds for many good causes and it is currently supporting Swaffham Bulbeck-based initiative Red2Green, which aims is to increase opportunities in learning, leisure and work for people with disabilities.
The concert hopes to raise £600 for a silent disco pack, as successfully trialled by Red2Green’s Aspirations group for adults with Asperger’s Syndrome. It allows participants to listen to music on headphones at any volume they choose to suit their individual sensory needs and the group wants to buy its own equipment rather than have to hire it. Concert tickets cost £5 each (half price for children) from Coffee & Co, Palace Street, Newmarket, and Exning Post Office.
