After a gap of a year, Lakenheath’s annual carnival and fete returned to the village at the weekend.

It began with a parade of floats and walkers in fancy dress from the Woodlands housing estate, through the village to the playing field where a boot fair and fete were held.

The event is organised by Lakenheath Playing Field Association but most of the village’s community groups had stalls, including the Little Fishes and Butterfly nurseries, the keep fit club and Lakenheath Library.

The village hall’s fund raiser was a ‘water and wine’ stall where you chose a wrapped bottle and if you were lucky it was wine.
