Burglars ram open iron gates and steal £5000 worth of stock from Newmarket business




A towbar business just outside Newmarket was targeted by a gang of men, making off with thousands of pounds worth of goods.

Cambridgeshire Police were called to Anglia Towbars in Fordham Road at about 11.45pm on Tuesday to reports of a burglary at the business.

Security cameras recorded a Nissan Navara pickup truck being used to ram through iron gates, and over the next 15 minutes a gang of five men searching vehicles and outbuildings at the complex.

Police said around £5,000 worth of goods were stolen from the business, including a petrol jet washer, two wacker plates and a disc cutter before making off.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation continues, a Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 35/25586/20," the spokesman added.
