Traffic is being diverted through Newmarket after a serious crash on the A14 near junction 38, where the road links with the A11.

Emergency services were called at about 9.34am today to reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car.

Ambulances are at the scene and a Suffolk Police spokesman said the rider was concious and breathing.

Traffic officers have closed the east bound carriageway between junction 37 at Exning and junction 39 at Kentford, and are diverting drivers through Newmarket to rejoin the road at junction 39.
