One of Newmarket’s biggest hotels is to undergo a £300,000 facelift to its conference and banqueting suite.
The Bedford Lodge Hotel is to have its Classics Suite, which can hold up to 180 guests, given an extensive makeover.
Under the plans it will see the existing AV system upgraded to include Bose speakers throughout, while the Classics Bar, which sits at the front of the suite, will be adapted to make more use of the natural light.
The meeting room will feature back-lighted ceiling coffers, plus large modern crystal chandeliers and remote controlled spotlights, while a large modern mural will adorn the back wall.
All the work at the Bury Road hotel, which was recently awarded the coveted four AA red star status is expected to be finished in time for the festive season.
“We are the only four star hotel in Newmarket and we feel this significant investment will continue to make us the Suffolk destination for weddings and conferences,” said Noel Byrne, chief executive of the hotel.
