Work begins on new luxury weddings and party venue

A scheme is under way to turn disused farm buildings owned by the Wood Ditton-based Granary Estates into a luxury wedding venue.

Nationwide planning, development and construction business Rural Solutions has been appointed to carry out the renovation, which will result in a new venue to be known as The Granary Barns.

It will improve the infrastructure and renovate existing buildings with the construction of a new glazed bridal walkway and refurbishment of the function room, as well as landscaping works.

The project is set for completion in February next year and according to Rural Solutions will “create a perfect courtyard location for anyone’s special day”.

Guy Taylor from The Granary Estate, which also includes the Dullingham Polo Club, said: “The buildings built of flint and brick, dating back to the 1800s, were in need of some structural as well as aesthetic improvements to conform to our philosophy, that quality is at our core and if we want to provide the very best in our hospitality offer, then our venue requires the highest calibre of expertise to guarantee a prosperous future within a tough market.”

Work on The Granary Barns project is being handled by the Rural Solutions team based at its new Hertfordshire office near Stevenage.

Gail Culshaw, the company’s construction manager, said: “The Granary Barns epitomises what can be achieved by Rural Solutions - the diversification of buildings with the retention of integrity.

“It’s a pleasure for the team to work on such a project.”
