One of the country’s top, professional chamber orchestras will soon be performing at Chelmsford’s Civic Theatre.
As part of Chelmsford City Theatres’ M&G Classical Concert 2015-16 Series, the Northern Chamber Orchestra will be performing a wonderfully varied programme, with Martin Roscoe joining the orchestra for the last and possibly the most stirring of Beethoven’s five piano concertos.
The impressive programme begins with The Overture from Mozart’s great comedic opera, contrasted to the enthralling Symphony no 35.
Also featured is Delius’ hugely popular pastoral piece On Hearing The First Cuckoo of Spring, as well as Shostakovich’s Prelude, while the frenzied genius of his swirling, unsettling Scherzo is utterly compelling.
With an exceptional reputation for engaging and exciting concerts, the Northern Chamber Orchestra will not disappoint for any music fan, and with over 30 critically acclaimed CDs to its name, the orchestra is now known in every continent. Ticket holders can also attend an insightful pre-concert talk at 6.30pm.
