Frankie Dettori and Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stud helped boost the takings at Ditton Lodge Primary School's Christmas fair.
The Derby-winning jockey signed a special Authorized cap and donated one of his cook books and a racing game for the silent auction while Darley Stud paid for the horse simulator to be brought from the town's racing museum to the school so visitors could practise their jockey skills.

There was also a visit from Santa and plenty of other stalls and organisers hope to have raised more than £1,200, which is likely to be used to buy more computers for the school.

Clare Thomas, vice-chairman of the school's parent teachers and friends' association, said: "We did really well and I would like to thank all the staff and parents who organised and ran the fair.

"A lot of local businesses have been very good to us particularly pubs which gave us bottles, the racecourse which gave us tickets for Ladies' day, the hairdresser and the golf club."
