Mervyn Westfield will make his Suffolk debut against his former employers Essex on Sunday.
Westfield is included in the Suffolk side to face Essex II XI in their traditional early-season friendly at Billericay Cricket Club (11am).
The 27-year-old served eight weeks in prison and was suspended from playing county cricket again until next year after pleading guilty to accepting £6,000 for under performing during a one-day match against Durham in 2009.
Although his ban from first XI county cricket will remain until next February, Westfield was cleared earlier this year to play II XI and Minor Counties cricket.
The quick bowler’s reduced ban was in recognition of the educational programmes he fronts on behalf of the Professional Cricketers’ Association warning young players of the dangers of corruption.
Westfield, who played seven first-class games and eight one-day matches for Essex, has played for Frinton in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League for the past two years.
Following the lifting of his ban he agreed to play for Suffolk this season, although his appearances look likely to be limited to just the county’s involvement in this season’s Unicorns Trophy, and not the Unicorns Championship.
The Suffolk squad also includes all-rounder Darren Batch, who led Sudbury to the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One title and subsequent promotion to the EAPL last season, but has not represented Suffolk since playing two matches in 2010.
Batch is one of four Sudbury players in the squad – Tom Huggins, Adam Mansfield and Ben Reece are the others – while Hadleigh duo Ben Parker and Dom Manthorpe are also included along with Jon Steel, who has moved from Mildenhall to Woolpit this season.
Suffolk have named a 12-man squad for the 50 overs-a-side fixture, with all 12 taking some part in the match.
Suffolk squad: T Huggins, S Webb-Snowling, M Cull, B Parker, D Batch, M Westfield, T Rash, B Reece, A Mansfield, D Manthorpe, J Beaumont, J Steel.
