Tough test for juniors

Ely’s under-11s played their second tournament of the season at Cambridge Regional College and with the team all nine and under they faced a stiff task against several older players.

Taylor Adams and James Robinson scored in a tight 3-2 loss to Cottenham, Struan Wallace-Sayers bagged his first for Ely in a 5-1 reverse against Walpole before Adams netted again in an 11-1 defeat to Letchworth.

The next day at Soham, it was the turn of the under-15s who also had a close one with Cottenham, losing 6-5 despite goals from Emily Barrow (two), Heather Dunand (two) and Ryan Norton.

Barrow and Conner Botting scored in a 9-2 loss to Herne Bay, before ending their day with a 2-0 defeat against Bury.
