Tigers sign bright new hope

MILDENHALL Fen Tigers have snapped up young Polish rider Michal Rajkowski from Elite League Side Belle Vue Aces.

The Pole comes into the Tigers side with a 6.21 average and will go straight into the number one berth for Sunday's home clash with Edinburgh Monarchs.

Simon Barton, Fen Tigers promoter, said: "It will take a few meetings for him to settle in but, once he does, hopefully he will score like he did last year when he put in many 15,16 and 17 point hauls."

The 23 year old spent last year riding for the Newport Wasps before the management team at Belle Vue signed him up over the winter after a string of impressive performances.

Laurence Rogers, team manager, added: "By co-incidence I was in the Manchester area on business and took in the Belle Vue meeting on Wednesday.

"For us, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. It was not all plain sailing as two other Premier League sides were alerted to what was happening and came in for him as well."

Rajkowski's move cements an already strong relationship between the Tigers and the Aces, which started earlier this year when the to the availibility of Kaj Laukkanen.
