Terrific time caps superb year for Greg

Greg Davis and Dave Price ventured to Portsmouth on Sunday to compete in the Great South Run, a race covering 10 miles while taking in the iconic sites of the Portsmouth historic dockyard and including the cathedral, Spinnaker Tower and HMS Victory.

The race finished along the seafront and this year saw 17,027 runners take part.

Finishing 129th overall was Newmarket Jogger Greg Davis in 62mins 41secs, which also saw him cross the line as fourth Mv50, a great time following a superb year of results for the veteran.

Dave Price, who has just started training again, crossed the line in 1hr 39mins, which was well under his pre-race predicted time.

Robin Clifford travelled to Norfolk on Sunday and was the sole Jogger competing in the Fenland 10.

Winds, rain and hail featured throughout the race but this did not put him off as he finished in 1hr 47secs and 17th overall out of 213 runners.

The first cross country fixture of the league started on Sunday at Framlingham and Newmarket Joggers were well represented in both the junior and senior races.
