SPEEDWAY: Aussie aces reject a Fen Tigers return

UP-AND-Coming Australian riders Taylor Poole and Dakota North have rejected the chance to ride for the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in 2010 after being signed by Elite League side Peterborough.

The teenage pair have been snapped up by the Panthers as assets to the club after creating big impressions at Mildenhall during their brief stints at the West Row in 2009.

Both will now be loaned out to Premier League clubs for the 2010 season to gain experience with Poole joining Staffordshire based Stoke Potters on a 5.00 point average, and North a strong looking Newcastle Diamonds outfit on a 3.00 point average.

John Adams, Mildenhall Fen Tigers manager, said: "Without a doubt it is very disappointing.

"Both riders have huge futures in the sport and are exceptional talents.

"At the end of the day though once that Premier League carrot it is hard to compete."

Despite the news that neither Poole or North will not be returning to West Row next year, management at West Row have just over seven points to play with in an attempt to bring in a rider of similar quality.

"We have spoken to about half a dozen riders and are still in negotiations.

As soon as Christmas is over we will take things further.

One thing I can confirm is that they are all British based riders

that we are talking to," added Adams.
