BURWELL race ace Oliver Jarvis has confirmed his plans are still up in the air as to what championship he will be racing in during 2012.

For the last four seasons the 28 year old has driven for Audi in the German Touring series (DTM) with varied results.

Although occupying a factory drive in the team for the past two seasons, the former A1 GP star is unsure if he be among Audi’s DTM driver roster for the up and coming season.

“At the moment there is no news as to what I will be driving this year,” said Jarvis.

“Nothing has been decided yet but I should have a much clearer picture within the next few weeks. All I know is that I will be staying with Audi but beyond that I am unclear on what programme I will be doing with them.”

Big things were expected of Jarvis, winner of the 2005 McLaren Autosport British Racing Drivers Club Award, in the DTM both last year and in 2010 after signing up with the Abt Sportsline team.

But a run of poor results in both campaigns saw him finish ninth in 2010 and 10th last season, with a solitary podium in Austria during last year’s campaign his highest points-scoring result.

“I have really enjoyed driving in the DTM and it would be great to take on the championship once again as I have learnt a lot during my time in it,” added Jarvis.

“Audi are always the last to confirm their driver line up. I think it is because they just like to take their time and evaluate everyone.”

One route that may become available to Jarvis should he not be offered a seat in the Audi DTM team is the chance to be part of their Le Mans 24 hours 2012 set up.

Jarvis received his first taste of driving in the world famous race when appearing in an Audi R10 TDI in the 2010 event.

“Over the last few years I have been looking at the Le Mans and that is the other option that could be open to me this year.,” he added.

“I have said before that one day I would like to take up that style of racing so it may be this year that this happens.”
