Haward leads the way as pupils prepare for next test

Pupils from the Newmarket and Mildenhall branches of the Mark Farnham Schools of Taekwondo have taken part in the organisation’s inter-schools annual championships.

The event, held at the Lynnsport Leisure Centre in King’s Lynn, saw more than 150 pupils from across East Anglia battle it out for inter-school honours in pattern, sparring, destruction and team sparring contests.

Performance of the day from those attached to the Newmarket branch went the way of Elizabeth Haward, who secured first place in the girls’ red/black patterns competition.

All the students who competed at the Norfolk venue are now back in training in preparation for the South Midlands Championships, which will take place in Hereford next month.
