Gamilati grabs Guineas glory
NO STOPPING: Gamilati and Frankie Dettori ease to glory in this years UAE 1,000 Guineas.
HIGH class filly Gamilati turned in another impressive performance on Friday after breezing to victory in the UAE 1,000 Guineas.
Partnered by Frankie Dettori, the three year old routed her five rivals by five and a half lengths to land the Listed prize sponsored by Gulf News.
The win for the daughter of Bernardini secured a one-two for Newmarket based trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni, who also saddled runner-up Pimpernal.
As a result of Gamilati’s victory, her odds for this year’s Qipco 1,000 Guineas were trimmed by many betting firms from 20-1 into 16-1.
“She is a very nice filly with a touch of class and that was a very good performance,” said owner Sheikh Mohammed
“We have lots of options with her now with the UAE Oaks under definite consideration and perhaps then the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot or maybe the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.”
