A team settle for a draw

Newmarket Badminton Club Men’s A team were held to a 3-3 draw by town rivals St Phillips B in their Newmarket Badminton League Division Two clash on Tuesday.

Newmarket raced into a 2-0 lead following wins for Ian Baldwin and Ben Maynard over Richard Smith and Stuart Bamford, and from Dan Wing and Graham Clark over John Wells and Phil May.

St Phillips pegged Newmarket back after Wing and Baldwin went down 2-1 to Smith and May, while Maynard and Clark suffered a loss by the same scoreline to Bamford and Wells.

Newmarket were guaranteed at least a share of the points thanks to Maynard and Wing’s win over Bamford and May.

St Phillips ensured that they would not be going away empty handed after Smith and Wells won 2-0 against Clark and Baldwin.
