Australian all-rounder Steve Taylor will not be returning to Mildenhall Cricket Club for a crack at the East Anglian Premier League this year,
Taylor was a pivotal figure for the Wamil Way-based side last season, scoring 1,868 runs in all formats to go with the 1,455 he contributed in 2015.
However, an administrative issue means he will not be back for a third year, with Mildenhall now likely to add a bowler as their international professional.
“Steve has been great for us and you are always going to miss someone of his quality,” said captain Ben Shepperson.
“It leaves us with over a 1,000 runs to make up, but we are confident we have those down the order.
“We bat deep, it was just a case of not being able to show that last year because Steve was so consistent at the top of the order.
“We are close to signing a bowler who can bat a little bit. He will be an exciting addition for the club.”
