Mark Wallis has three runners left in this year’s William Hill Greyhound Derby following a dramatic second round at the weekend.
The Lakenheath handler will take Blonde Nipper, Evanta Fantasy and Evanta Evita into the third round of the competition on Saturday, with places in Tuesday’s quarter-finals up for grabs.
Evanta Fantasy and Blue Moment were the first of Wallis’ runners to be in action in the second round, with the former winning the heat by 3 1/4 lengths in a time of 28.56 seconds.
Blue Moment was edged past by Leon Sanchez to deny Wallis a memorable 1-2, with Adageo Bob next to be eliminated after finishing fourth.
Evanta Evita came second to advance into the next round, while Van Frankie could only manage fourth place in the same heat.
Ballymac Sinbad was eliminated in the next heat, before Blonde Nipper (28.44) won by two lengths in the last heat.
