Six Newmarket master swimmers competed for Team Anglia at the East Region Masters competition.

The event brings in the best of the region and surrounding areas, and the day got off to a flyer for the Newmarket contingent with Livvii Curtin winning gold in the 400m freestyle.

This set the tone with Jo Yardy winning one gold and two bronze medals, Ashley Buck taking home two golds and Matt Reynolds picking up a bronze medal.

Peter Winter won one gold and one silver, while Jane Smith set a new East Region Masters record to finish up with two golds and one silver.

Smith set a new record in the 50-54 year old age group for the 200m individual medley with a superb nine second personal best, and is a great lead up for the swimmers ahead of the National Short Course Masters in Sheffield at the end of this month.
