Mildenhall ‘KJM’ Fen Tigers promoter Kevin Jolly has given another Christmas present to supporters with the announcement that Travel Plus Tours owner James Easter will be joining him in an advisory role at the club.

Easter has had a long association with the sport, including promoting at Peterborough, managing five World Champions and team managing the England, USA and Australian International sides.

In Jolly’s view, he is the final piece of the jigsaw for Mildenhall speedway.

A delighted Jolly said: “Having James join us is fantastic news for me and for the club.

“He will bring a stability and knowledge to the club having been around the sport for many years.

“I know I can learn a lot from him and having him there to prod me in the right direction and support me in the day to day running of the club is a massive bonus.

“He is straight talking and easy to deal with and as I say with his knowledge and contacts this can only strengthen our position as a club.

“I am sure our supporters will join me in welcoming James to the club. I feel I have a really strong team around me now and that the club can really move forward in the coming seasons.”

Easter was pleased to be asked to join the Fen Tigers, saying: “This invitation came out of the blue.

“I am gradually taking a back seat in my business and still retain the desire to remain involved in speedway so this was the perfect fit for me.

“With more than 30 years experience in the sport I feel I have the knowledge and contacts to help Kevin move the club forward and that my record within the sport speaks for itself.

“I have covered just about every role within this sport and am pleased to be offered the opportunity to use this knowledge and experience for the good of Mildenhall Speedway.

“This is no takeover attempt though the club belongs to Kevin, but two minds are better than one and having known Kevin since he was 18 I am sure we can work well together.

“Kevin has maintained the enthusiasm and determination to succeed at the grass roots level of the sport since those early days, something I have rarely seen in speedway and that was a main reason in me agreeing to join him.

“I look forward to meeting everyone in the New Year and to a happy and positive association with this great club.”
