It was all change at the Links Golf Club, Newmarket, on New Year’s Day as the club staged their annual captains’ drive-in.
Outgoing men’s captain David Smith presented performed his last role in the position by handing over the club’s green blazer and tie to new men’s captain Ray Bolton, who marked his new position by driving off from the first tee.
Newmarket-based Bolton plays off a handicap of 12.
Also driving in were new ladies captain Dianne McDonnell, from Dullingham, who takes over from Lesley Duncan-Edge.
McDonnell, who lives in Dullingham and plays off a 20 handicap, was presented with a captain’s brooch.
Taking on the role of junior captain for 2015 is Jordie Allen, who plays off an impressive seven handicap, despite being only 16 years old, while Ian Griffiths drove in as the new senior men’s captain.
